Confessions of a Stamp-a-holic

My stamp collection has reached monstrous proportions; and yet, every day, I see new stamp sets that I want to own!

Well enough!

I am making a vow here today that I cannot, must not, will not purchase another stamp set, until all my stamp sets have seen ink!

There, I said it! I WILL NOT BUY ANY MORE STAMPS!!!!

Unless someone is willing to GIVE me stamps, I am not going to spend any more money on stamps until I have made at least one card with each and every stamp set I currently own.

How long will it take me? I don't know!!!

I think that if I use 2 stamp sets a week, it is going to be at least a year before I can buy new stamps. There, I said it...I have at least one hundred stamp sets that I can use before repeating any sets! OMG, I should be ashamed of myself.

So here are two stamp sets that have never been inked - until now - A Hampton Art clear stamp set, and an SU 'Herb Expressions' stamp set. I have used the two Verve stamp sets before, so they don't count!

I followed the Verve blog contest - too late to enter! - and the latest Mojo Monday sketch. All the paper is BG, and the cs is from my stash. Which of course, I am not going to supplement either!

The only item I am allowed to purchase is:

Eastern Influences

I was inspired today to complete three cards, all based in MojoMonday Sketch 151, and all before Sunday - whew!

The top card used DCWV "Taj Mahal" pp, and a stamp that I purchased off ebay, so I'm not quite sure of the manufacturer. The jewel is from Prima.

The other two geisha cards feature DCWV "Far East" pp, and Core'dinations cs. The embossing is with some new Cuttlebug Asian folders. The sentiments are DCWV chipboard.

I used Memento ink, and my copic markers to colour the image.

A Baby Card for a friend

A friend of mine just had a baby - his name? Archer! Isn't that adorable?

I followed the MojoMonday Sketch, and used my new Cosmo Cricket Earth Love paper.

The stamp is from Prairie Rubber Stamps. the ink is Ranger Distress, and I used my MS punch, and my cuttlebug.

This is a card for my Fil's birthday this month.

I used SU stamps - two new sets: Watercolor Trio, and From the Farm. The cs is DCWV, the ink is Copic and Memento. I used my cuttlebug nesties, a Tim Holtz embossing folder, my SU border punch, and stain ribbon from my stash.

Latest Cards...a Commission!

One of the sevretaries at work commissioned me to make sets of cards for her - the top card is a sympathy card that features mostly Stampin' Up stuff, the middle card is a Cuttlebug Baby card, and the bottom card is an inspirational card that features MME paper, and a Verve stamp.

All Stampin' Up "Stamp- a- Rama"

I went to an all day SU make and take yesterday called 'Stamp-A-Rama', and these are the cards we made during the make and take portion of the day.

Most of the cards are made with a new stamp set from the Summer Mini called 'Watercolor Trio'.

The techniques were simple and easy, and I love the results, especially the butterfly on vellum card, and the pink & white birthday card.

I learned a few new techniques from the demonstrations, and hope to have time to try them this week,

Mojo 137 - Some Vintage Goodness

Mojo 137

This is a great sketch, and a perfect opportunity for me to use my new Tim Holtz/ Sizzix filmstrip die.

The cs is file folder cut down, the ink is all Tim Holtz, the images are from Holtz's alterations line, the flower is from Prima and the button is from my stash. The twine is SU, and the pearls are from the $store.

It was very tricky to get the photos behind the film strip, and to not block the sprocket holes, but I LOVE this die.

Corner Bookmark Swap

I'm hosting a 'corner bookmark swap' over at ISC, and here is my contribution.


I saw this idea on Cindy Laurence's blog, and loved them!

I went with a vintage travel theme to suggest the old proverb - travel the world without leaving your home, with a good book!

The cs is bazzill, the pp, rub-ons and stickers are from a kit, and came from the $ store.

I used a Fisker's punch for the detail.

House Mouse Swap

This card is for Cheryl's swap over at ISC, any HM stamps, any theme, any occasion. You are supposed to send 5 extra stamped images to trade as well as finished cards.

I coloured the image with prismacolor pencil, the cs is all bazzill, I used my cuttlebug folders and a MS punch. The flower is from the $store, and the ribbon is from my stash. I thin I got it from Len's Mill store.

Long Time no Post

I made a set of 6 cards for Cheryl's swap over at ISC.

The swap is called "Oh What a Lovely Tree", and since I love tree stamps, I just had to join.

The background is brayered with all SU ink, the inkadinksdo stamp is in Versafine, the brads are MM - I think, and the ribbon is from the Dollar Tree. The bazzill cs is embossed with my new SU texture die 'Flourish'

Mojo 131 & A Quilling Experiment

Well, here is my attempt at mojo 131 and quilling! I'm not sure that ALL the work I put into this card translated into a payoff! My goodness, quilling is ALOT of work!

The pattern is drawn freehand, and embellished with 'flowers' of different sizes and colours of quilled paper.

The Latest Mojo and a Brayer Experiment

This card has been brewing ever since I found Michelle Zindorf's blog - she does wonderful work, and up till now I have done a total scraplift from her work, but this card I feel that I have made it my own!

The stamps are all from Prairie Rubber Stamp, the ink is SU, copic, and VersaFine.

The cs is SU - Whisper White, and from my stash. I also used a Ralph Lauren paint chip that has the texture of sand.

I used my CM circle cutter, my Speedball brayer, and a Cuttlebug folder.

I followed the latest Mojo Madness sketch & incorporated it into the inside of the card as well.

Jacque's Card Challenge over at ISC

Here are two cards I made for a challenge over at ISC, basd on the same LO/

The bottom card uses the design as intended with cs from Core'dinations, pp from K-Ology, stamps from SU, copic markers and ribbon flowers from the $store.

For the top card, I turned the LO portrait, added pp from an origami set, and embossed an Asian inspired stamp. I used Sakura pens and gold paint pen from Sharpie.

My little niece Marisa turns 5 in April, so I got a jump on her card with a new stamp from Stamp Barn. The stamp is called 'Christal'.

Birthday Cards for family

Both of my brothers-in-law, and my sister in law celebrate birthdays in late February and early March, so I have been busy making cards with a sense of humour!

All the cards use Mojo127 for the LO. Two are made with Hanna stamps, and the Harley themed card is a Jolees sticker.

Here is a card using a Hampton stamp, and following the latest Mojo challenge,

The cs is DCWV, and die cut paper from the $ store. The pp is American Crafts and my copics.

A few Valentines cards

The top card is the card I gave to my honey for Valentines Day - I must admit I stole the idea from the new Stampin' Up! catalogue - they have a stamp that says this; I don't have the stamp, but I did have a old Jolee's of the box of chocolates. The inside of the card reads "more than chocolate!". The red heart is repurposed from a cake doily, and the ribbon is from my stash.

The second card is for a challenge over at ISC to make one last Valentine card before you put your stuff away for a year! The stamp is from Hero Arts, the sticker is BoBunny, and the flowers are Prima. I coloured the squirrel with my copics -warm greys, and E31.

The third card uses MME paper, TPC stamp, a flower made from layers of tissue paper that I cut with a spellbinders Peony die, and inked the edges - got this off off SCS, and lots of distress ink.

The fourth and fifth cards are an experiment. I sent white cs and a Glimmer mist screen through my Big Shot, and it left a lovely emboss! It was large enough to make both cards as well.

The fourth card is a scrap of ribbon, another flower made with the peony die cuts, this time made from dictionary pages and inked, and a big brad from the $ store.

The fifth card uses inkadinkado hearts, heat embossed with two colours of Zing emboss powder, and cut out, and a red ribbon from my stash decorated with a stick pin, and some crystals.

A Get Well card for a friend and Mojo125

I followed Mojo 125, with a twist to make a get well card, or more of a cheer up card for a friend.

All the cs is MM, the image is from Prairie Rubber Stamp, and I coloured it with my copics. The sentiment stamp is from Studio G. The ink is Memento for the image, and Versafine for the sentiment.

The ribbon and the pearls are from 'who knows where' in my stash!

Mojo 124 - Tim Holtz and Verve

Thanks to Julie at Verve and Mojo Madness for a great sketch, and a chance in the contest. Every week there are inspiring layouts, and the work of many talented ladies.

Most of the ink is Ranger Distress Ink, and Black Versafine. The stamps and masks are from Tim Holtz, and the inspirational stamp is from Verve. The ribbon is from MME, and the charm is from the $ store. The butterfly stamp is one of my very first stamps that I ever bought, and it's from
the $ store too! I coloured the butterfly with my copic markers. It's hard to see, but there is a bit of sparkle on the flower, where I used green stickles.

Mojo 121 - Monochromatic challenge

Here is my card for the mojo challenge. I combined it with a colour challenge from ISC - monochromatic. The challenge was also to use ribbon, a 3d embellishment and some bling.

Mojo Monday 120 - A contest & a little brayer action

This weeks challenge over at Mojo is a great sketch, and I combined it with an ISC challenge to use a brayer, and alcohol inks.

The cs is Bazzill, ink is SU and Memento Black, stamp is Hampton, copic markers, Sakura white gelly pen, and tools are Spellbinders and Speedball.

Verve stamps Contest! & Mojo Sketch

I recently made my first purchase from 'Verve' stamps, and discovered their blog!

These are some really beautiful stamps, and to tide me over till I get them in the mail, they are hosting/ sponsoring a contest using their 'Winter Mittens' digi stamp.

I printed the image onto cs, coloured in the mittens with my copics, cut them out, used some white sparkly fibre for the cuff, and added some bling, before I attached them to a piece of twine from my stash with some mini clothespins. I added some dimensionals to the back so they won't move around.

The paper is all Fruitcake from Basic Grey, and the cs is all Bazzill. I added some more bling to the corners, incl the sentiment that came with the digi set.

The round scalloped circle is a nestie, and the scalloped rectangles are from my SU border punch.

The sketch is a modification of the Mojo119 sketch available this week.

Birthday Bash Blog Hop is Here!

Here's my two projects, shown above.

The first is a birthday card for my dh's birthday in November. Sshhh, it's a surprise! I used all Amy Butler patterned paper, and an epoxy button from the dollar store. I attached everything with pop dots to give them some dimension. The pic of us is from years ago. I carefully cut us out, and attached some patterned paper party hats. The top note die cut was an RAK .

The second card is from my DS's birthday earlier this month. I used plain craft paper over a larger sized card, some American Crafts patterned paper, SU label stamp, Studio G sentiment stamp, and trimmed the label to follow the curve of the circle. The numbers are plain chipboard embossed with several layers of Ranger Black embossing powder.

An homage to Michelle Zindorf

I accidentally 'bumped' into Michelle Zindorff's blog one day, and I absolutely LOVE her work. She teaches workshops all over the US, and is an SU rep, so I think she's probably earning her living from crafting, which is so amazing.

Here is my scraplift of her 'gnome' card. I used Inkadinkado's fairy stamp, but everything else is straight from Michelle's card.

I tried out my new inkadinkado stamps for this weeks mojo, and combined them with Tim Holtz's distress ink technique, using a mister.

The challenge over at ISC was to combine the colour combination white, orange, and green.
